Leopold Greenwald

Leopold Greenwald, also referred to as "Yekuthiel Yehuda" Greenwald, was a prominent Orthodox rabbi born in 1888 in Transylvania. He later relocated to the United States with his family in 1924, marking the beginning of his notable career in America. Greenwald went on to serve as the rabbi at the Beth Jacob Congregation in Columbus, Ohio, a position he held for nearly three decades.

Throughout his career, Greenwald was a prolific writer, producing approximately forty works that showcased his expertise in Jewish law and tradition. One of his most notable writings is the halachic compendium and digest titled Kol Bo Al Aveilut, which focuses on the laws of death and mourning. This significant contribution demonstrates Greenwald's dedication to his faith and his commitment to providing valuable resources for the Jewish community. He passed away in 1955, leaving behind a legacy as a respected rabbi and scholar.
