Baruch Ben Haim

Baruch Ben Haim was a prominent figure in the Sephardi Jewish community, serving as the Chief Rabbi of the Syrian Jewish community in Brooklyn, New York, for over five decades. His lengthy tenure was marked by dedication and leadership, earning him a respected position within the community. In addition to his role as Chief Rabbi, Ben Haim was also an educator, teaching at the esteemed Magen David Yeshiva.

Ben Haim's own educational background was rooted in traditional Sephardi scholarship, having been a protege of the renowned Rabbi Ezra Attiya, rosh yeshiva of Porat Yosef Yeshiva. Under Attiya's guidance, Ben Haim was part of a cohort of students trained to assume leadership positions in Sephardi communities worldwide.
