Josef Nassy

Josef Nassy was a visual artist of Surinamese American origin, born in 1904. His heritage was rooted in Jewish descent, reflecting the diverse cultural background that would later influence his work. As a Surinamese American expatriate, Nassy's life and career were marked by significant geographical movements, ultimately leading him to reside in Belgium.

As one of the approximately 2,000 American passport holders, Nassy was interned in a German camp during the conflict.
